[Letter] 1854 (about Feb. 1) to "dear John" [John Albert Broadus] / William A. Whitescarver. 1854.

Wrote: "In compliance with your suggestion I have sketched a few lines to aid in what you have kindly undertaken." Described his wife's [Broadus's sister Caroline] temperament and faith, particularly in her last illness. "She was uniformly cheerful, which was indicated by her brisk movement in what she did, and the merry songs she so frequently sang when alone." Caroline M. Broadus died August 25, 1852.
